Hpbio is a Brazilian company with a global presence, focused on the development and manufacture of products for implants and neurosurgical procedures. Our main expertise lies in the manufacture of silicone products, such as catheters and drainage systems, among others.

Among the various products we manufacture, the Sphera Duo and Sphera Pro ventriculoperitoneal shunt systems, the HpPic / Smart PIC solution for intracranial pressure and temperature monitoring, and the DVE Free Flow external ventricular shunt stand out in the market.

History

It all began in 1985 with our founder, Dr. Hélio Pereira Magalhães, realizing his dream of producing more anatomical and effective biological heart valves in Brazil.

In a few years, Hpbio expanded and developed carbon mechanical heart valves, a pioneering work in Latin America.

From the 1990s onwards, we began producing valves for hydrocephalus, directing our focus towards neurosurgery.

Always seeking to improve our solutions in the smallest details, in pursuit of nothing less than excellence, today we are one of only 5 companies in the world capable of producing programmable valves.

We are present in 46 countries, performing over 60,000 brain drainage implants annually, extending and improving the lives of people in every corner of the planet.

We are guided by strict compliance with international standards for the manufacture of medical materials, such as ISO 13485, European Directive (EU) 2017/45 and GMP.
